Service Description

Take a walk with Erica and learn about the abundance of wild plants and medicinals in the Agassiz Forest Area. This is a great class for anyone who has a basic understanding of plant ID and wants to learn more about picking protocols, local wild foods, medicinal plants, mushrooms (if present), and edible flowers; we will dive deeper into the benefits of the plants/trees and identify some more advanced plants as we come across them. Each class also has a wild foraged treat, bannock & a cool or hot foraged drink. Each class lasts about 2-3 hours and is suitable for those who would consider themselves as intermediary foragers. Put on your boots, long pants and bug protective clothing (maybe slap on some sunscreen too) Pick up a mesh bag and come out to explore a couple of different spaces in the area (to be announced closer to the class date) We will pick some items, go over identification and confirmations of plants/trees/fungi etc. This class is going to be all about our connection with the earth and how to use what is provided to us; be prepared to step into the pond and dig some roots! Make sure to bring any gear you may need. I always carry knives, bug spray, sunscreen. Classes require a minimum of 5 people for 2024 due to time constraints.
